The Action aims to support existing SMEs of the Region of Eastern Macedonia – Thrace to implement research and innovation investment projects that are part of the RIS3 strategy’s priority sectors for which business discovery workshops have been conducted and to proceed to the production of new / innovative / improved products and services of high added value, in order to increase the competitiveness and enhance the position of enterprises in the Region.
The total budget of the Action amounts to 8.000.000,00€.
TERMS & CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION
An enterprise can apply for the Action if it meets the following conditions:
- Has at least two (2) complete closed financial years prior to the date of online submission of the funding application (2022 & 2023).
- Its research – innovation investment project must be in a priority sector of the RIS3 strategy.
- Implement the investment project exclusively in the Region of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace (headquarters or branch).
- The amount of the subsidized budget cannot exceed the maximum turnover achieved in the closed financial years 2022 & 2023.
- Legal operation according to the appropriate licensing document.
- The company must be registered in the Register of Beneficial Owners.
- Commit to ensure accessibility for disabled persons to buildings, services, electronic environments, etc. until the completion of the project.
- No work must have started on the project before the date of online submission of the application for funding.
BUDGET & IMPLEMENTATION PERIOD
Minimum budget: 100.000,00€
Maximum budget: 300.000,00€
The duration of the Action is thirty-six (36) months from the date of publication of the Decision of Inclusion of the project and is subject to the aid scheme of Reg. 651/2014.
EVALUATION CRITERIA & RATE OF AID
The evaluation method will be comparative and will be based on the following criteria:
- Scientific and Technical Excellence
- Results and Impact
- Quality and Efficiency of the Implementation
The minimum acceptable overall score is 3 points.
Rate of aid depending on the category of research and the size of the enterprise:

* The results of the project should be widely disseminated through conferences, publications, open access repositories or free / opensource software.

The date of eligibility of expenditure is defined as the date of the electronic submission of the Funding Application of the investment project in question.
